Classic vanilla Gender Reveal Cake with colorful surprise, perfect for celebratory announcements.
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
¼ cup oil
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1¾ cups whole milk
Pink or blue gel food coloring as needed
Candy or sprinkles (optional, for filling)
Buttercream frosting
Instructions
Étape 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
Étape 2: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.
Étape 3: In a mixer, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.
Étape 4: Alternate adding flour mixture and milk to batter, starting and ending with flour.
Étape 5: Divide batter into bowls and tint each with pink or blue gel food coloring.
Étape 6: Pour into pans and bake 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool.
Étape 7: Optionally, cut a hole in center of two layers to create a piñata effect for candies or sprinkles.
Étape 8: Assemble cake with buttercream between layers and fill center with colored candies if desired.
Étape 9: Frost whole cake with white buttercream, add pink and blue decorations.
Étape 10: Chill cake for one hour before serving for best results.
Notes
Use gel food coloring to avoid thinning batter.
Freeze layers briefly for easier cutting and stacking.
Store cake covered at room temperature for up to 2 days.
